What kind of game is this?
Hell Let Loose: Vietnam is a 50v50 tactical military FPS set in the Vietnam War. It is slow, lethal, and built around teamwork. Going it alone rarely works — matches are won by squads that communicate and follow a plan.
The 50v50 format
Each match pits two 50-player teams against each other. Every team is led by a Commander who issues orders down through Squad Leaders, who pass information to their squads. The main mode, Warfare, is a tug-of-war over control points; Offensive splits the teams into attackers and defenders.
Why teamwork beats kills
Kills matter far less than objectives. A squad that holds a garrison network, moves supplies, and supports the frontline will out-perform a squad of lone wolves every time. Use voice or text, and listen to your Squad Leader.
Picking a role
Start simple. Rifleman and Medic are forgiving ways to learn the flow. As you gain confidence, try Engineer (to build nodes and garrisons), or Recon (spotter/sniper) if you prefer observation and callouts.
First-match habits
- Stay near your squad and the objective.
- Watch the map before you run.
- Build a garrison early if you can — it is your team's respawn safety net.
- Don't sprint through open ground; the jungle hides enemies meters away.
- If you're not sure what to do, ask — most veterans are happy to direct new players.
